Travis S. Finkenbinder
Owner/Funeral Director
Travis Scott Finkenbinder, a first-generation Licensed Funeral Director, was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and raised in nearby Newville. His journey to becoming a funeral director is particularly notable because he chose this path, a profession he wasn’t born into but one he embraced with dedication and passion. As a first-generation funeral director, Travis’s story is a testament to determination, hard work, and commitment to serving others during their most difficult moments.
Travis graduated from Big Spring High School, home of the Bulldogs, where he embraced the motto of his alma mater, “ever, always, strong.” His dedication to excellence would continue as he pursued higher education and became the first in his family to graduate from college. He attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from the John L. Grove College of Business. His academic excellence was evident as he was named to the Dean’s List.
After his time at Shippensburg, Travis began his professional career in the pharmaceutical and medical device sales industry, specializing in implantable cardiac rhythm management devices. This experience provided him with a strong foundation in client relations and the healthcare field, further shaping his ability to support and serve others.
Travis’s commitment to his chosen career path led him to the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, where he pursued his passion for funeral service. He graduated with an Associate in Specialized Technology in Funeral Arts & Sciences in January 2007, achieving a perfect GPA of 4.00. He was recognized as Valedictorian of his class, receiving the prestigious John Rebol Award for the highest overall grade point average. Additionally, he received the Mu Sigma Alpha Award for his outstanding academic proficiency, leadership, and community service, and the William J. Musmanno Memorial Award for excellence in clinical practice, attitude, and commitment. Travis also served as President of the Student Government during his time at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, Class Number 134, further showcasing his leadership and dedication to the funeral profession.
Travis resides in Palmyra, with his wife, Rebecca, and their three sons, Cael, Cade, and Cole. He enjoys being actively involved in his sons' lives, especially participating in their love for sports. Whether it’s baseball, wrestling, soccer, or weightlifting, Travis is a hands-on dad, supporting his boys in all their athletic and academic endeavors.
Through his work and personal life, Travis Finkenbinder continues to make a significant impact in the funeral service industry, demonstrating a unique blend of compassion, dedication, and leadership. His journey—from his roots in Newville, Pennsylvania, to his successful career in funeral service—is a powerful reminder of the strength of choosing one’s own path and making a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Megan S. Waters
Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, Crematory Manager & Operator
As a licensed funeral director and embalmer specializing in restorative arts, I am deeply committed to providing compassionate care and innovative services in the funeral industry. I graduated from the Mortuary Science Program at the Community College of Baltimore County in 2011, proudly becoming a first-generation funeral director. Since joining Finkenbinder Funeral Homes in 2015, I have had the privilege of serving families with care and dignity, while also taking on the role of crematory manager and operator.
I am passionate about learning new techniques and skills within my field, particularly in the area of restorative arts, where my expertise helps families find comfort and peace. Along with my professional work, I am an advocate for animal welfare, frequently fostering and participating in TNR (trap-neuter-return) with local animal rescues.
Outside of work, I live in Palmyra with my husband, Brian, our Great Dane, Clover, and three cats. When I'm not dedicating my time to my profession or animal rescue work, I enjoy reading, creating stained glass pieces, and jet skiing on the Susquehanna River on weekends.

Alaina A. Ace
Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer | Licensed Insurance Producer | Monument Company Manager
I am a first-generation licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, dedicated to serving families with compassion and care since graduating from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science (PIMS) in 2013. After graduating in 2013 I started working at the Finkenbinder Funeral Homes to complete my internship and become licensed. At Finkenbinder Funeral Homes, I work to ensure families feel supported during some of life’s most challenging moments, guiding them through every step of the process with empathy and respect. My goal is to serve families when they need it most and to walk with them through the entire grief journey—my care doesn’t stop at the graveside service.
Alongside my work as a Director, I am a licensed insurance producer in Pennsylvania, specializing in helping families plan ahead with pre-need insurance solutions. I also manage our monument company, creating lasting memorials to honor the lives and legacies of loved ones.
Outside of my professional life, I’m a proud wife and mother of two children. Supporting them in whatever they choose to pursue—whether it’s academics, dance, gymnastics, or swimming—brings me great joy. As a family, we are dedicated to nurturing their growth and encouraging their passions.
Whether in my professional or personal life, I believe in offering unwavering support and care to those around me. It’s an honor to serve families during their time of need, and I am committed to ensuring each family I work with feels valued, heard, and respected.

Jack Horn
Funeral Assistant
I am born and raised in Palmyra and graduated from Palmyra High School in 2013. It has been an honor to be a part of the Finkenbinder Family Funeral Home team since I was a senior in high school. The hands-on experience I gained throughout my years helped greatly in 2020 when I completed my studies at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science as part of Class 161. I’m currently in the process of obtaining my license to become a funeral director. I’m the son of John and Christine Horn, and I have a sister, Emily. My girlfriend and I love spending time together traveling and exploring new places. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, hiking, and spending time taking care of my garden during the spring and summer months. I’m also a huge Philadelphia sports fan particularly the Phillies and Eagles, Go Birds!
