Paul W. “Bill” Goss, Jr.

Paul W. Goss, Jr., 82, of Lewistown, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his home. He was born on August 27, 1932 in McClure to the late Dora L. (Dietz) and Paul W. Goss, Sr. He was preceded in death by his first wife Norma K. (Conner) Goss in 1983. He remarried Shirley J. (Richard) Goss who died in 2014.

Bill graduated from McClure High School in 1950. He went into the U.S. Army following high school. He attended Lock Haven State College where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in History and Safety and Driver’s Education. He earned his Masters degree from New York University in Safety and Driver’s Education. He also earned credits towards Disability and Mobility Training from Penn State University. He went on to teach for over 30 years.  He was an administrator at Elizabethtown Area High School in addition to being a golf coach. He was a proud Veteran who served in the Korean War. Bill was a member of many clubs including his Masonic Lodge, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple of Harrisburg, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Lancaster Shrine Club.  He playfully says his claim to fame was appearing in the movie “Witness” in 1984.

He is survived by two daughters: Kelly G. Chesney (John) of Middleburg, and Debra A. Bair (Todd) of Mount Joy; four stepchildren: Robert Richard (Susan) of Lewistown, Paul Richard (Rhonda) of McVeytown, Karen Yohn of Yeagertown, and Patti Richard (Andi) of Florida; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brother Barry E. Goss and sister Barbara A. Snyder, both of McClure.

Memorial Services will be held on August 27 2015 at 2PM at Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. 3rd St, Lewistown, PA 17044 with Reverend Robert L. Zorn officiating. Visitation will be held 1-2PM prior to the service. A second Memorial Service with a Masonic Service will be on September 3, 2015 at 2:30PM at The Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Reverend Gary S. George officiating. Visitation will be held 1-2:30PM prior to the service.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his church at the address listed above, or Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church 996 E. High St Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or to the Abraham C.
