Lucille M. (Risser) Baer

Lucille Marie (Risser) Baer, 82, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Landis Homes, Lititz.  She was born Wednesday, July 5, 1933 in Maugansville, MD, to the late John and Ida (Martin) Risser.  She was married to Glenn E. Baer on August 18, 1956.

Lucille received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, VA.  She retired in 1997 as the Food Service Director for the Elizabethtown School District where she worked for many years.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

In addition to her husband of over 59 years, she will be lovingly missed by her children: Melanie A Baer-Drescher and husband J. Douglas, of Lititz, Carlton P. Baer and wife Karen, of China; two grandchildren: Daniel P. and Rachel M. Baer; a sister, Doris Rosenberger, of Harrisonburg, VA; a brother, Donald Risser, of Hagerstown as well as Lucille’s extended family and caring friends.  She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Swartzentruber. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA  17543.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family from 1:30 PM until the time of the service on Saturday.  Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.
