Hope (Paulnack) Heitzman

Hope (Paulnack) Heitzman, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Sunday, July 17, 2016.  She was born in Kulpmont, PA, the oldest of 9 children, to the late Theodore and Ann (Turlish) Paulnack.  She was predeceased in 1991 by her loving husband Norbert J. Heitzman.  Hope and Norbert married on October 25, 1952. 

She is survived by her son, James T. Heitzman; 2 daughters, Rochelle Heitzman and Renee H. Morton and husband Kerry; 4 sisters, Sharon Ryniak and husband Frank, Nadine Moritz and husband Preston, Lynne Waraksa and husband Ronald, and Sandra Mizak; 2 brothers, Carl Paulnack and wife Grace and Austin Paulnack; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and 2 feline companions, Ceaser and Rocky.  She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Donna Lubeski and Judith Paulnack. 

Hope graduated from Kulpmont High School with the class of 1943.  She worked as a seamstress and a nursing home attendant, but her most important job was that of raising her family and caring for their home.  Hope was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit.  She faithfully watched General Hospital.  Hope was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt who will be greatly missed. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10:30 AM at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078. Burial will follow mass in the Hershey Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
