Yolanda D. Barley, 98, formerly of Hershey, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Providence Place Senior Living in Pine Grove, PA. Born in Hershey, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Elena (Paolini) DeSantis. She was widowed by her loving husband, Harry W. Barley in 1997.
Yolanda was a 1943 graduate of Hershey High School and enjoyed the amenities of growing up in Chocolate Town “back in the day”. She went on to work on the wrapping line at the plant for 33 years and retired from the Hershey Company in 1983. She was a faithful member of the Campbelltown United Methodist Church. In her free time she enjoyed tending her beautiful flower gardens, knitting, playing card games, going to bingo and the casino and, most of all, serving delicious home cooked meals to her appreciative family and friends.
She is survived by two children: Wendy B. Hoverter and husband Dennis E. of Mechanicsburg and Richard H. Barley and wife Shiela A. of Hershey; grandchildren, Rick A. Barley and wife Katie Reesor Barley, Adrian K. Hoverter and wife Crickitt of Enola, and Elena M. Hoverter of Carlisle; great-grandchildren, Brynn Barley, Blake Barley, Layla Reesor, and Grant Reesor.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 11AM at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. A time of viewing will be held from 10AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow at 2PM at the Hershey Cemetery, Hershey.
