William B. “Bill” Heisey, 77, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at UPMC Harrisburg. Born Saturday, February 17, 1945, in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Paul and Ruth (Fraunfelder) Heisey. He was married to Karen (Itzoe) Heisey on June 8, 1968.
Bill proudly served with the United States Air Force. In his free time, he enjoyed rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles. Before his lengthy illness, he looked forward to trips during the summer to the beach. He loved all animals, especially dogs. Bill was an extremely devoted husband and father. He especially enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren. His smile, sense of humor, and kind heart will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife of nearly 54 years, he is survived by two sons: Brian P. Heisey, married to Sarah, of York, and Mark A. Heisey, married to Lisa, of Gettysburg. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Noah, Violet, Luke, and Claire Heisey; a sister, Patricia A. Harzer, of Elizabethtown; a sister-in-law, Linda V. Itzoe, of Elizabethtown, as well as William’s extended family and caring friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 27, 2022, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 904 Mill Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, with Father Bernard Oniwe as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Elizabethtown. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the Mass on Friday. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
