Verna Marie (Boring) Snyder

Verna Marie Snyder, 84, went to be with her Savior on October 2, 2018 at Elizabeth Manor in Elizabethtown following a brief illness.  She was born in Mapleton Depot, PA on November 9, 1933 to the late Ella (Beatty) and Gaius Boring.

She was a graduate of Captain Jack Joint High School in Mapleton.  She was employed by the Elizabethtown Crippled Children’s Hospital, the Lincoln Restaurant in Mt. Joy, R.E. Hershey Meats, and Mt. Calvary Christian School.  She had a heart for children and led the primary church program at Mt. Calvary Church for many years; she later helped with Five Day Clubs at Faith Bible Church.  She was most recently a member of the Lakeview Bible Church in Manheim.  She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her chicken collection, love for her family, and faithfulness to God.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Kyper; her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Larry G. Snyder; her brothers, Harry and Gaius Boring; her sister, Dorothy Fortune; and her granddaughter, Jenna Snyder.  Surviving are her children: Deb, wife of Brad DeGroft, of Elizabethtown; Larry, husband of Jill (Mantz), of Elizabethtown; James, husband of Pam (Buck), of Spring Glen; Dianna, wife of Mitchell Moyer, of Dallas, Georgia; and Donna, wife of Dan Morris, of Marietta, Ohio.  Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held Monday, October 8th, 2018 at 12:30 PM at the Lakeview Bible Church, 383 Lakeview Dr., Manheim, PA 17545 with Pastor Dan Gilbert officiating.  A time of visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until time of service.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Mt. Ober Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
