Ronald Richard Tyson

Ronald (Ron) Tyson, 68, from Gaines, PA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 29th. In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by three daughters, Angela Cooley (Brett), parents of Alyssa and Sara of Cedarville, OH; Heather Kickbusch (Kyle), parents of Kayden and Karston of Temperance, MI, and Karen Bell (Adam) of Houston, TX. He has a sister Buffy Halter (John) in Georgia, a brother Jeff in New Jersey, and an aunt Barbara Irwin in Marietta, PA. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

His faith and family were the most important aspects of his life. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and bicycle riding. He enjoyed driving “awesome orange”- his childhood dream Corvette. Ron was a 1970 graduate of Palmyra Area High School and a current member of Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church.

He was predeceased by his parents Robert Tyson and Patricia Tyson, a brother Bobby Tyson and a grandson Joshua Cooley. He was also predeceased by an aunt and uncle Gerry and Warren Lauck, who raised Ron as their own.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, OH; Emmanuel Baptist Church (Laskey Rd) in Toledo, OH; Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church in Gaines, PA; or Gale-Hose Fire Department in Galeton, PA

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11AM at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.  A time of visitation will be held from 10AM until the start of the of the service.
