Robert Lee Cormack

Robert Lee “Bob” Cormack left this world peacefully on Nov. 2, 2018 with his beloved fiancé Margaret Mary Houck by his side. Bob was born in Toronto, Canada on May 3, 1936 to the late Thelma “Babe” and Alexander Cormack. He was raised there and grew up enjoying the outdoors with his brother William and sister Barbara.

After graduating from High School, Bob moved to the U.S. and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he proudly served this country as a member of the Criminal Investigation Command for 20 years until his retirement in 1976. By all accounts, his deep love and commitment to his family was followed closely by his love for his wide circle of friends and unending passion for duty while in the military. After retiring from the Army, Bob found a new passion as a fraud investigator for the State of Pa. until retiring from that job. Though Bob always loved answering the call of duty, in recent years he has been employed in what could truly be called his “jobby”, socializing and pursuing his love of golf while working at Manada Golf Club, and was the pro shop assistant manager there. The old adage “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life” certainly applied to Bobs life. He was also a life member of the Shellsville VFW, and the Campbelltown Legion.

Bob was deeply loved and respected by family and friends alike and will be dearly missed. He is survived by fiancé Margaret Mary Houck, three sons: Scott Cormack & fiancé Janice, Robert Cormack & wife Priscilla, Christopher Cormack & wife Kristie; daughter, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, sister Barbara, step daughter Vicki Sweigert, three nieces, Terry, Deb, and Karen. He was preceded in death by his brother, William.

A committal service will be held at 10:30 on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, with full military honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Palmyra, PA. 717-838-9322.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Capital Chapter 542, 8000 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
