Born on May 4, 1961 to the late (William) Donald and Mildred (Rightenour) Horetsky in Roaring Spring, PA, Rick is dearly remembered by family and friends on this first anniversary of his passing.
Rick earned a BS degree in Biology and a MBA from Penn State University and began his career at the Milton S Hershey Medical Center in 1984 under the auspice of John W. Kreider, MD whose unprecedented research yielded a method for propagating Human Papilloma viruses which contributed to the development of the HPV vaccine to prevent cancer. Rick also performed breast cancer and diabetes research and after almost 30 years of service, he retired and began a successful small business venture.
Rick married Diana Piper in a double wedding along with his sister, Donita and husband, Kenneth Wagner in October 1987. A loving husband, he and his wife were blessed with a beautiful daughter in 1990 (Danielle Catherine Horetsky who sadly passed away in 2005) and a wonderful son (Ethan) in 1994. They became even prouder parents when Ethan earned the title of United States Marine at MCRD Parris Island, SC in Feb 2020.
An uncle to two great nephews and a niece, Rick loved the outdoors, fishing, boating, hiking, golfing, attending music venues and most of all, doing anything with his cherished children. He also enjoyed traveling and exploring the country with his wife, visiting sights along the way as they traveled to Tucson, AZ each year to visit his dear mom and spending time in Florida with family and friends.
So very loved and missed even more, the family takes solace in knowing that Rick is reunited in eternal life with his beloved daughter, Danielle and other family members.
