Richard L. Bowman, 88, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 10, 2019. Born Tuesday, November 8, 1930 to the late Emery and Mabel Bowman. He is survived by his loving wife Shelvy Jean (Calhoun) Bowman.
A US Marine Corps Veteran he served during the Korean War. He also enjoyed hunting and tractors along with tinkering in his workshop at home. He had a talent for taking things apart just to see if he was able to put them back together again.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter: Debra Ellis and husband Dale; son, Rodney Bowman and wife Kristina; grandchildren, Derrick Ellis and Drew Ellis and wife Janelle; step-grandchildren; Frank Hulse, Rachael, Erin, Bailey Mann, and David Good; great-grandchildren; Jace and Donovan Ellis; and a brother Ralph Bowman. He is predeceased by his grandson Troy Bowman and sisters Marie Smith and Ruth Sparks.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11am at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A time of viewing will be held from 10AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown with military honors.
