Philip C. Ober, 70, of Elizabethtown, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Born Saturday, February 14, 1953 in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harold and Polly (Brosey) Ober. He was married 44 years to Lois M. (Halbleib) Ober.
Phil was a 1971 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School and also trained at the Hershey Trade School in the machine shop. He was retired from Pennfield Feeds where he worked as a fleet mechanic. Phil loved his Hot Rods and football, and was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. He also enjoyed cookouts and BBQ chicken, but loved most spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son Nathaniel P. Ober and wife Melissa of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren: Haley, David, Shay and Diem; two sisters: Wendy Stuchel and husband Sandy; Joni Stringer and husband Rod; and a son-in-law Christopher Zipp. Phil was predeceased by a daughter Ashley Rae Zipp.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Bainbridge Cemetery.
