Norman Curtis “Tick” LaChapelle, 59, of Elizabethtown, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. Born on Wednesday, July 25, 1962, in Lewistown, PA, he was the son of Oleda (Frye) Hetrick and Norman C. LaChapelle, Sr. He was married to Christina M. (Waltz) LaChapelle for over 18 years.
A Veteran, Norman proudly served with the U.S. Navy during the invasion of Grenada. He worked as a trailer technician for over 22 years with Utility Keystone Trailer Sales, Inc., Manheim. He was also a member of Mount Joy American Legion, Post #185.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Joe A. LaChapelle, engaged to Meghann Neidert, of Mount Joy, Eric A. LaChapelle, of Carlisle, Rebecca A. LaChapelle and her significant other, Aaron Millard, of Elizabethtown and Brittney L. LaChapelle and her significant other, Andrew Morrow, of Elizabethtown. Also surviving are his mother, Oleda, of Reedsville; six grandchildren: Kylee, Joseph Jr., Aneycia, Koralee, Aubree and Brooklynn; a great-grandson, Avionn, as well as Tick’s extended family and caring friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Curtis L. LaChapelle.
A time of visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 5-6 PM in Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Those attending are required to wear a mask/face covering. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
