Nora Mae “Noni” (Smith) Leggore, 77, formerly of Middletown, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at her home in Highspire. Born Monday, June 12, 1944, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Roy J. and Olive A. (Grubb) Smith. She was married to Larry L. Leggore for over 36 years until his death in 2004.
A homemaker for most of her life, Noni also worked as a CNA at Frey Village, Middletown, and more recently at Ecumenical Retirement Community, Harrisburg. She was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Middletown. She will be remembered as an avid Elvis Presley fan and for her love of ceramics and making quilts. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by two children: Scott Eric Leggore, married to Kimberly, of Middletown and Lisa Ann Moyer, married to Jon, of Middletown. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Casey Scott Moyer, Courtney Eva Nicole and Jon Scott Moyer, all of Middletown; two sisters: Edith Ann Kirk, married to Edmund, of Fox Chase and Darlene Rae Teeter, married to Harry, of New Enterprise; a brother, James Grubb, married to Ricky, of Mount Joy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and caring friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Evans and a brother, Robert Grubb.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Fager-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 208 North Union Street, Middletown, PA 17057, 717-944-7413 with Reverend Robert Ryder officiating. Interment will follow in the Middletown Cemetery. Closed casket visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service on Friday.
For those who cannot attend the funeral service, a celebration of Nora’s life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 7, 2021 beginning at 2 PM at the home of Jon and Lisa Moyer, 7 Keystone Avenue, Middletown, PA 17057.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nora’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
