Nicholas "Arthur" Varlotta Obituary

Nicholas A. “Arthur” Varlotta, 90, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his home in Marietta, PA.  Born Monday, November 3, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Li Greci) Varlotta.  He was married to Dorothy M. (Alicandri) Varlotta on November 15, 1958.

A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Arthur proudly served with the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.  He worked as an architect for most of his life and owned and operated his own Architectural Company on Long Island, NY.  Arthur had an affinity for trains of all sorts but above all, will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife of over 62 years, he is survived by three children: Lisa M. Paterson, married to Peter, of Long Island, NY; Jacqueline D. “Jackie” Varlotta, of Marietta, and John M. Varlotta, of Marietta.  Also surviving are four grandchildren as well as Arthur’s extended family and caring friends. 

A Committal Service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY  11933, with Military Honors.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 North Gay Street, Marietta, PA  17547, 717-426-3614.
