Nan Fishburn, 95, of Middletown, died on Saturday, August 19, at the Middletown Home, where she had been a resident for five years. She was born and raised in Middletown, attending Middletown schools and graduating in 1945. After marrying Marshall Fishburn, also of Middletown, they lived both in Middletown and Reading, raising two children, and she returned to Middletown after his death in 1993.
Nan was pre-deceased by her parents: John and Edna (Kurtz) Groupe; husband; sisters, Betty Groupe, Helen Daily, and Nedra Smith; and infant brother, John Groupe. She is survived by her children: Betty Anne Fry (Samuel) of Palmyra, and David Fishburn of Atlanta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 2 at 11:30 AM at the Middletown Cemetery, with The Reverend Anjel Scarborough officiating.
