Louise (Kopp) Heistand

Louise (Kopp) Heistand, 92, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Elizabethtown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  She was born Saturday, July 28, 1923 in Mt. Joy to the late Walter G. and Emma (Heilman) Kopp. She was predeceased by her two loving husbands, Elmer Forwood and Melvin Heistand.

Louise was a graduate of East Donegal High School.  She retired from the United States Postal Service after 25 dedicated years at the Mt. Joy Post Office.  She was a faithful member of the former English Presbyterian Church in Marietta.  Louise enjoyed keeping her hands busy crocheting and made over 100 dolls for friends and family.  Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by 3 grandchildren, Jodi Breese and husband Peter of Oswego, NY, Jon Bixler and wife Kimberly of Elizabethtown, and Jessica Fry and husband Jim of Mt. Joy; and 4 great-grandchildren, Kevin and Justin Bixler and Hailey and Logan Fry.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Martha Forwood Bixler; and 2 siblings, Walter Kopp and Ruth Rineer.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 19th at 11 AM at Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 N. Gay St., Marietta 17547 with Pastor David C. Stauffer officiating.  Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 AM until time of the service.  Burial will follow the services in Camp Hill Cemetery, Mt. Joy,
