Lois B. Thompson

Lois Beamer Thompson, 82, of Elizabethtown died on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Masonic Village. Born in Murrysville, PA she was the daughter of the late Philip Merle and Emma Belle Hill Beamer.  She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Milton G. Thompson, whom she married on May 29, 1960.

She leaves behind three children, Jennifer Walker and her husband Jeff of Exton, PA; Lisa Angleson and her husband John of Guilderland, NY; and Bradley Thompson and his wife Maria of Avon, CT.  She leaves seven cherished grandchildren Sarah and Matthew Walker; Kevin and Elizabeth Angleson; and Cole, Blake and Christopher Thompson.  Lois is also survived by her sister Marie Watson, and her brother Ron Beamer and his wife Judy.  She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She devoted herself to her family as a homemaker who passed on strong values and lasting memories for her children and grandchildren.  Gardening (flower, vegetable & weeding), summer chore schedules, growing strawberries, learning to cook, making jam, summer swimming, and Easter Egg coloring are only a small sampling.  Her never-ending support to her children throughout their lives will never be forgotten.  Later she served as an office manager until retirement.  Her lifelong passion for geneology provided a comprehensive family history.  It led her to membership with Daughters of the American Revolution, the ability to share her expertise and interest with others, and to include her children and grandchildren to membership with Daughters of the American Revolution and Sons of the American Revolution with 14 family members traced to the American Revolution.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Masonic Village Health Care Center for the expert and compassionate care provided to Lois.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, with Reverend A. Preston Van Deursen officiating.

A second Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Emmanuel Reformed Church of the United Church of Christ at 3618 Hills Church Road Export, PA 15632, with Reverend Joseph Hedden officiating.  Burial will be at Emmanuel Reformed Church following the service.  A reception follows.
