Jeffrey James Dawson

Jeffrey James Dawson completed his earthly journey Saturday, July 23, 2022 just 20 days before his 65th birthday. Everyone loved Jeff, his sense of humor, his beautiful blue eyes, his big smile and the best laugh ever. His heart was bigger than himself and he would go to the ends of the earth if you were his friend. He loved telling stories and was full of them. From his friends and family to his work family, he was loved by so many.

He was born Monday, August 12, 1957 in Lebanon to the late Richard F. and Dorothy (Eiceman) Dawson.  He was a 1976 graduate of Lebanon High School and retired from BRT, Inc. in 2019.  Previously he had been employed by Blouch Fuel and Carlos R. Leffler.  His nicknames were Daws, Leonard, Stumpy and Big Daddy and his favorite saying was “Youknowwhatimean.”

His treasures in his life were his wife, Andrea (Deitzler); a son, Daniel Jeffrey Dawson of Lancaster; two step daughters, Laurie Gnall and husband Ed of Palmyra and Jennifer Boyer and husband Mike of Palmyra; his five precious grandchildren, Sara and Katelyn Boyer, Sean Carter, Charlie and Mila Gnall; sister, Trudy Lapp and husband Mel; sister-in-law, Sue Dawson; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister, Judy Dawson; and a brother, Richard Dawson.

Jeff and Andrea would’ve celebrated 28 loving years together on September 24th. Sadly, not nearly enough time, but the time they had together was meaningful and loving. Andrea described feeling the luckiest girl in the world to have shared life with him.

To all his family, friends, co-workers and neighbors who have supported Jeff and his family, thank you from the bottom of their hearts. It was a roller coaster of a ride for 2 years and they were blessed to have had you all by their side.

A private Celebration of Life and burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Please toast Jeff at your favorite watering hole, share a favorite memory and have a good time…it’s what Jeff would want you to do!
