Jean L. (Gettys) Umbrell

Jean L. (Gettys) Umbrell, 72, of Annville, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, January 2, 2022, in Elizabethtown.  She was born Thursday, December 15, 1949 to the late Harry J. and Joyce E. (Starry) Gettys.  She is survived by her loving husband, Carl R. Umbrell, Sr.

Jean was a member of the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association, the Woodmen of the World Association, and she was a Faithful Member of the Life Connections Church, Palmyra.  In her spare time she enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales.  Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children: Melinda Rodriguez and husband John, Crystal Allen and husband Robert, Jr., and Michael Whitzel; step-children, Veronica Jackson and husband Kevin, Carl Umbrell, Jr., and Louis Umbrell and wife Jennifer; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lloyd Gettys and wife Karen, Kathy Brown, Robert Gettys and wife Tracy; and a sister-in-law, Karen S. Gettys. She is predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Gettys.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 6PM at the Life Connections Church, 1384 Park Drive, Palmyra, PA 17078. A time of visitation will be held from 5PM until the start of the service. Burial will take place at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Marrifield VA, 22116-7023.
