Janet L. (Clouser) Slesser

Janet L. Slesser, 71, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Hershey Medical Center. Born Wednesday, June 14, 1950 in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Bailey) Clouser. She was married 54 years to R. Richard “Dick” Slesser, Jr.

Janet was an active member of LifeGate in Elizabethtown. She was very musical, enjoyed singing and was a member of the “One Accord” Choir. She had a great sense of humor and was particularly fond of Puns. Janet was an activist in her community and had a love for people. Everyone knew her as Peeka, and she had her own line of custom made greeting cards named “By Peeka”. Her greatest love was her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Dick, she is also survived by a daughter Teresa L. Horst (Thomas) of Mount Joy; two sons: Stephen R. Slesser (Rebecca) of Lancaster, and Keith R. Slesser (Heather) of Lancaster; nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter; and two sisters: Thelma L. Stipe (Tom) and Donna Farmer (James). She was predeceased by two brothers: Bill and Jim Clouser and a sister Betty Zimmerman.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at LifeGate, 5636 Bossler Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia.
