Janet M. (Painter) Dyer

Janet Minerva (Painter) Dyer, 92, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.  Born July 26, 1926 in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Eby R. and Mabel (Devert) Painter.  She was married to Harry G. Dyer on February 16, 1963.

Janet was a member of the Elizabethtown First Church of God where she also served as a Sunday School Teacher.  She enjoyed gardening, camping, reading, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, baking, candy and cookies and was also a Philadelphia Phillies fan.

In addition to her husband of over 55 years, Janet is survived by two sons, Kenneth E. Dyer, of Elizabethtown and Kelvin M. Dyer, husband of Sharon, of Medford, NJ.  Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and a sister, Margaret Umberger, of Palmyra.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Painter and her twin sisters, Ruth and Mary Painter.

There will be a viewing held at the Elizabethtown First Church of God, 144 South Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022 on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 10-11 AM.  Burial will follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543
