Mr. Howard Kane Jr., 88, of Elizabethtown passed away peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Masonic Village. Born May 27, 1933, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Mary Helen (Prout) Kane.
He spent his working career at Bell Telephone where he spent 38 ½ years and retired in 1989. Howard attended Drexel University where he received his bachelor’s degree in science that he obtained while working a full-time job. He was employed by Bell Telephone where spent 38 ½ years and retired in 1989. Howard was a proud Korean Conflict Army Veteran. He will be remembered by his unbeatable sense of humor, compassion and outgoing personality. There wasn’t a stranger he couldn’t make a friend. In his free time, he enjoyed going camping, gardening, card tricks, and woodworking.
In addition to his loving wife Edith J. (Jackson) Kane, he is survived by his children: Howard Kane III and Melissa A. Williams, married to Patrick B. Grandchildren: Christopher P. Williams and Kathlene M. Williams fiancé of Andrew Giachetti. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his baby sister Mary Kane.
A Visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Sell Chapel Masonic Village 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown PA 17022, with Pastor Deborah Valiton-Carnish officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the John S. Sell Chapel. 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
