Harvey L. Winters, 68 of Bossler Road, Elizabethtown, PA passed away Monday, September 18th, unexpectedly at his home. He was the loving husband of Kathryn J. Smith Winters, and they celebrated 49 years of marriage in July. Born in Elizabethtown Harvey was the son of the late LeeRoy and Elsie Frysinger Winters.
Harvey was a 1972 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School. Over the years Harvey owned a number of local businesses, including Winters Disposal, Winters Asphalts Sealing RIteway Asphalt Sealing. He also worked as a dump truck driver for over 40 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Tammy wife of Eric Showalter of Elizabethtown, Darren husband of Michelle (Fleck) Winters of Mount Joy and Dawn wife of Preston Fergus of Annville; grandchildren, Logan, Owen, Victoria, Wyatt, Waylon and Lucius; siblings, Kathryn Troup, Thelma Eckerd, Edith Vuxta, Myrtle Waltz, James Winters, Jennie Anderson and Betty Eberly. He was preceded in death by his brothers LeeRoy and Marlin Winters.
Harvey enjoyed bowling, playing cards, hunting, spending time at the cabin, fireworks, watching his Pittsburgh sports teams and playing with his beloved dog Rusty. Most of all he loved being a friend, brother, uncle, husband, father and pap.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Life Celebration on Saturday, September 23rd at Christ Church United Church of Christ, 247 South Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM. Visitation with family will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
