Harry "Bud" Eckels Obituary

Harry “Bud” Edward Eckels, 92, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Country Meadows Retirement Communities, Hershey.  He was born Monday, March 23, 1931 in Chambersburg to the late Herbert E. and Margaret (Smith) Eckels.  He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Betty Catherine (Clapsaddle) Eckels.

 

Bud graduated from Chambersburg High School and spent his entire 44-year professional career with Texas Eastern Natural Gas Company.  He served in many roles during his tenure, retiring as supervisor and respected leader.  Bud was dedicated to his family and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.  He had an ability to fix anything he touched.  He loved the Lord and raised his family in His light.  Bud will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

 

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Michael and husband Ronald of Hummelstown; three sons, Dennis Eckels and wife Kathy of FL, Michael Eckels and wife Karen of Grantville, and Stephen Eckels and wife Dana of Hummelstown; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Jack and Richard Eckels; and four sisters, Virginia Newcomer, Martha Feldman, Donna Walter, and Margaret Feagan.

 

Services will be private with burial in Hershey Cemetery.  Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the care.
