Gladys S. (Sanders) Chestnut

Gladys (Sanders) Chestnut, 91, of Hershey, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at home.  She was born July 31, 1930 in Annville, PA.

Gladys was a 1948 graduate of Hershey High School and Hershey Junior College in 1950.  She was a homemaker all of her life.

She is predeceased by her parents, Henry E. Sanders and Margie E. Sanders, her husband David T. Chestnut and daughter Ann C. Witmer. She is survived by James T. Chestnut, Barbara L. Chestnut and Janet E. Crowther all of Hershey; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Gladys loved her Lord, her family, and the outdoors. In her younger years she sewed draperies for her house and clothing for her children. Planted flowers around the house and loved to go to the mountains and especially the beach.

We want to thank the nurses and especially the aides who assisted in her hospice care.

A service of remembrance will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, Hershey, PA 17033. A time of visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the start of the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
