Ella “Ellen, Ellie” Kramers, age 87, passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 16, 2021 at the Masonic Village Healthcare Center in Elizabethtown, Pa.
She was born January 4, 1934 in Williamsport, Pa to R. Bertram and Ruth (Holdren) Nichols. She graduated from Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing and briefly attended Pennsylvania State University. Ella worked as a registered nurse in a variety of locations throughout her life.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Air Force Colonel Barre E. Smuck and again later by her husband of 13 years, Army Colonel John “Ted” Kramers. She is survived by her daughter Tanis and husband Tom Foudy of Montana; son Steve and wife Susie Smuck of California; son Dave and wife Carol Smuck of Florida; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her close companion John “Jack” Prosser of Elizabethtown, Pa.
Ella thoroughly enjoyed raising her children and traveling all over the country and in Europe, due to her husband’s military career. She spent much of her retirement traveling, touring and visiting her children. Ella was also an extremely generous woman who lit up a room with her quick smile.
