Edward Thomas Strunk

Edward Thomas Strunk, 73, formerly of Stroudsburg, PA, passed away on October 21, 2023, in Carlisle, PA. He was born August 15, 1950, to the late George and Evelyn (Smith) Strunk.

Ed graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1968 where he lettered in three sports and was later inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at Stroudsburg High School. After high school, Ed enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army. He was sent to Vietnam and served as a door gunner on a helicopter with Charlie Company. After serving in the Army, Ed attended and graduated from Mansfield University. He later went into the Navy and then spent his working career as a Pipeline inspector for the State of Pennsylvania. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with Nevaeh and Nate. Going on car rides, shopping sprees and telling stories about his life.

He is survived by his children: Nathan Strunk and Rachel Wright with husband Eric; grandchildren: Nevaeh Strunk, Austin Lilley, and Kala Smith with fiancé Daniel; brothers: Glenn Strunk with wife Lee, George Strunk Jr. and Keith Strunk with wife Georgia. Nephews Keith Strunk Jr, Gregory Strunk, Scott Strunk and Jason Strunk.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Strunk, grandparents Edgar and Martha Strunk, Clarence and Freda Smith

Graveside services with full military honors will be held Friday, November 3, 2023, 2:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery
