Edith Nickey Eisenbise died in her home at the age of 95 on July 2, 2014. She was born June 18, 1919 in Haxtun, Colorado to Agnes Hulse Nickey and Carl Nickey. She had one sister, the late Anna May Tinkler of Humboldt, KS. Edith attended college at McPherson, Kansas where she married Eugene Eisenbise in 1940. He preceded her in death in December 2004.

She graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from University of Wyoming, and taught in Garden City, KS and Elizabethtown Area School District. She was an active life-long member of the Church of the Brethren.

In addition to being an educator, she reared seven children, was a capable cook, seamstress and farm wife, church choir member. She is survived by Rodney Eisenbise, Sondra Simmons, Janet Eisenbise, Sylvia Lehman, Jeff Eisenbise, Nicki Eisenbise and Scott Eisenbise; her children-in-law, Jo Holmgren, Ben Simmons, Robert Lehman, Rebecca Eisenbise, Nancy Kschinka and Kris Kiner. She has twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held August 2 at 11 AM at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren with burial at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial gifts may be sent to Brethren Housing Association, 219 Hummel St, Harrisburg, PA 17104
