New Jersey native, Derek Joseph Werdermann, 69, died Sunday, June 13, 2021 at his home in Marietta, PA.
Derek was born on September 25, 1951, in New York, New York, to the late Max Werdermann and Dolores (Facciani) Werdermann. He spent the first half of his life in New Jersey, moving to Marietta for the last 25 years.
After graduating from Paramus High School in 1969, Derek continued forward becoming a self-taught mechanic and electrician. He recently retired from Donsco, Inc., Wrightsville, PA.
Derek’s favorite pastimes were spending time at the various watering holes in Marietta, shooting pool, watching baseball and not saying much to all his friends, who called him “Jersey”. His other interests included computers, the solar system, genealogy and the New York Mets.
Although he had a wonderful, twinkling smile and loved quite a few ladies, Derek proved how smart he was by never getting married.
Derek is forever loved and will be greatly missed by his younger sisters, Maxine Wray and Karen Adams, his niece Jessica, and his nephews, David and Zachary.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 North Gay Street, Marietta, PA 17547.
