Christine F. Smith, 94 of Annville, passed away Saturday September 16, 2023. Born May 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Franklin D. and Emma J. (Winters) Unger.
After graduating high school, she spent her working career as a supervisor for 21 years at the Lebanon County Workshop. After retiring in 1991 she became very active in Gravel Hill U.M.C teaching S.S. classes for kindergarten, youth and adult bible class for over 60 years. Christine served as president of U.M. Women and was a Lay leader for 10 years as well as serving on many committees. She enjoyed singing in the church choir which she did for 50 years, camping, puzzles, crafts, sewing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son Kenneth Smith (Denise); grandchildren: Amy Carr (Brendan), Lisa Black, Heather Stanton (Jason), Daniel Martin (Christine), Joshua Folk (Juli), Andrea Folk (Josh Pass); and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Russell R. Smith and daughter, Carol A. Martin (John).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lebanon Valley Home United Church of Christ Home Benevolence Fund.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Friday September 22, 2023, at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home. 25 W Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with services to follow.
The service will be recorded and posted to our website promptly following the services.
Graveside services will be at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
