Bruce A. Connor, 83, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing at Palmyra. Born Sunday, October 31, 1937, in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Augustine) Connor.
Growing up in Salisbury, Bruce graduated from Wicomico High School in 1955. He went on to play soccer at Duke University for two years and then, on to complete his education at Temple University, in 1962, where he continued to play soccer and earned a bachelor’s degree. He worked as a Senior Marketing Executive with The Hartford and Great American Insurance Companies. He was also an associate with Troil and Fick Realty Group. Bruce enjoyed fishing and playing golf for most of his life. He also enjoyed coaching his son’s soccer, baseball, and ice hockey teams for many years.
He is survived by a son, Bryce A. Connor, and Bryce’s girlfriend, Shannon Ziemba, of Harrisburg. Also surviving are a grandson, Ethan Lloyd, of Middletown; a brother, Barry Connor, of Summerville, SC; nephew, David Connor and niece, Jennifer Connor Summers, also from Summerville, SC; a great niece, Kennedy Connor; and great nephews: Sam and Connor Summers.
