Anna Mae Nagle
Anna Mae Nagle, 71, of Jonestown, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Abrahm and Anna Mary (Zimmerman) Redcay. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald A. Nagle in 1995.
Anna Mae worked cleaning houses since she was 6 years old. She was also a hard working woman who helped her husband with farm work. In recent years she enjoyed going to Bluegrass concerts in her free time. Anna Mae will be remembered as a great cook and excellent baker, who was famous for her shoofly pies. She was a simple woman who loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Butler (John), of Annville; son Terry Nagle of Jonestown; two granddaughters: Britny Miller and Hailey Butler; eleven siblings: Irvin Redcay (Shirlene), Vera Hoover (widow of Harry), Irene Redcay, Nora Weaver (Leroy), Lloyd Redcay (Arlene), Verna Martin (Mervin), Laura Reiff (Lloyd), Allen Redcay (Julia), Carl Redcay (Debbie), Ruth Horst (Mahlon), Elvin Redcay (Regina); and many extended family members.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Rd., Palmyra, PA 17078, with Reverend Douglas Smith officiating.
A viewing will be held from 6-8PM on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. A second viewing will be held the hour prior to the funeral service from 9-10AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Anna Mae’s church at the address above, or to the Lancaster Farmland Trust, 125 Lancaster Ave., Strasburg, PA 17579.
