Young Ok (Cho) Kim, 87, of Palmyra, formerly of Mahanoy City, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Gwynedd Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Landsdale. She was born Tuesday, October 25, 1938 in Seoul, Korea. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Sun C. Kim, MD.

She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea, and a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Seoul National University. She began her career at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston before dedicating herself to her family as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She led an active social and philanthropic life with her husband and found great joy in travel, knitting, and crafts. Above all, her family was the center of her life and her greatest source of pride and happiness.

She is survived by two sons, Sang K. Kim, MD and wife Heather (Keener) of Hummelstown and Michael K. Kim of Bethlehem; a daughter, Susan (Kim) Perkins and husband Brian of Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Eloise and Benjamin Kim.

Services and burial in Hershey Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
