Wilbur M. Barley, 87, a lifelong resident of Elizabethtown, went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2014. He was the loving and devoted husband of Evelyn J. Barley, sharing 65 years of marriage. Wib was the son of the late Martin W. and Anna M. (Boltz) Barley. He was preceded in death by six siblings: two brothers, Fred Barley and Thurlow Barley; and four sisters, Ruthie Herchelroth, Mabel Hostetter, Emma Kretzing, and Mary Jane Buffington and a grandson: Stephen Hipple. He is survived by his wife, three daughters: Brenda Kaylor and her husband Fred, Karen DiPuccio and her husband Mike, and Sherry Kramer and her husband Bob; as well as seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Wilbur worked on the Pennsylvania Turnpike for Gulf Oil Corporation for 27 years. He then retired from AMP Incorporated after 15 years of service. Wilbur was a lifetime member of the First Church of God, in Elizabethtown. Previously he was an active member of the Conoy Lions Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed playing games, golfing, watching sports, and catching up with old friends. More recently, he could be found at the bowling alley “coaching” his buddies on their league, tinkering with his tools, and working on small projects with his good friends.

He was a caring, loving family man who always had a hug and a warm smile for everyone he knew. He will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed to have known him.

The memorial service will be private at the request of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown 17022. www.millerfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the First Church of God in Elizabethtown, 144 S. Market St. Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
