Wilbert C. Dunlap, Sr., 85, of Palmyra, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Palmyra Health & Rehabilitation Center with his loving family by his side. He was born Thursday, January 24, 1929 in Beaver Falls to the late Milton and Lillian (Cato) Dunlap. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, E. Marian (Breckenridge) Dunlap.
He graduated from New Brighton High School and retired from Arco Chemical where he worked as a laboratory technician. He was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by a son, Wilbert C. Dunlap, Jr. and wife Sue Ellen of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Linda Anderson and companion Gary Burns of Coatesville, and Christine Long of Palmyra; 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Dunlap; a son-in-law, Larry R. Long; three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5th at 11:00 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Samuel Fry officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Annville.
