Warren Harding Hitz, Sr., 92, of Campbelltown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home. He was born Monday, November 15, 1920 in South Annville Township to the late Adam and Elizabeth (Eckert) Hitz. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy A. (Forney) Hitz.

Warren proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He retired from the farm and mechanical division at the Milton Hershey School. He was an active member of the Campbelltown United Methodist Church and a former member of the Lions Club where he earned the Melvin Jones award. Warren enjoyed working on small equipment and could fix anything. Most importantly he was a loving family man.

He is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Hall and husband Michael of Harrisburg; two sons, Warren H. Hitz, Jr. and wife Elaine of Perry, GA and Harry A. Hitz and wife Sandy of Annville; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Clarence Hitz and June Evans. He was predeceased by 7 siblings, Sadie Bucks, Mark Hitz, Mary Alger, Helen Buchter, Jerome Hitz, Grace Gassert, and Ada O’Neal.

Memorial services will be held Monday, March 25th at 10:30 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Kerry Bart officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9:00 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow in Campbelltown United Christian Cemetery, Campbelltown.
