Dr. Warren Earl Howard Edu, 75, of Hummelstown, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 7, 2012.  He was born Thursday September 10, 1936 in Hershey to the late Arthur and Mary (Hummer) Howard. He is survived by his companion Sue O’Connell Nelms.

Warren was the Superintendent for Big Spring and Johnstown school districts.  He was a member of Union Deposit United Methodist Church, NRA, and PA Fruit Growers Association.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and all around sportsman.  Warren enjoyed farming, gardening, and woodworking.  He owned Thoroughbred horses and loved all animals, often supporting organizations like the Humane League.  He was a humanitarian having sponsored several children through worldwide organizations. Most importantly he was a loving family man.

He is survived by a brother, Bruce Howard; a niece Jo Marie Stravinskas and husband Joseph; 9 great nieces and nephews, Jamie Newhouse, Jessica Koser, Robert Boudreau, Cole Boudreau, Katie Stravinskas, Nick Stravinskas, Derick O’Connell, Lyndsey O’Connell, and Skyler Gownley; 5 great great nieces and nephews, Blake Koser, Aubrie Koser, Clayton Koser, Raylan Boudreau, and Peyton O’Connell; and a K9 companion, Heidi Van Howard.  He was predeceased by his niece, Susan Boudreau.

Family and friends are invited for viewing on Wednesday, July 11th from 7-9 PM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 12 ^th at 10 AM at Union Deposit United Methodist Church, 34 West Main Street, Hershey, PA 17033 with Pastor Gail Boyer officiating, with viewing from 9 AM until time of the service.  Burial with full military honors will follow in Hershey Cemetery, Hershey.
