Walther Ortega, 74, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, November 21st, 2016 at his home in Elizabethtown, PA. Born November 25, 1941, in Ecuador, he was the son of the late Luis M. Ortega and the late Enriqueta de Ortega.
Walther was the owner of E-Town Tailors, in Elizabethtown, during which time he enjoyed not only helping but also getting to know his clients. He was an avid story teller, indulging in sharing his experiences with his family and friends. He always had an affinity for music, something that was clear by his involvement in radio hosting and instrument playing, as well as his enjoyment while dancing at family and friend gatherings. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Fanny Ortega; two children, Elizabeth Briggs and John-Paul Ortega; step-son, Dario Sanchez; grandson, Liam Ortega; siblings, Sylvia Ortega de Peña and her husband, Rodrigo Peña, and Monica Palacios and her husband Edwin Gonzalo Palacios; and his nephews and nieces, Xavier, Sylvia, and Walter Peña Ortega, and Mariasol and Paul Palacios.
A viewing will be held from 10:45 AM-12:45 PM on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 PM on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 904 Mill Road, Elizabethtown, PA, 17022 with Rev. Steven W. Fauser as Celebrant. Walther’s remains will be taken to Ecuador where a private burial will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Walther’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
