Walter D. Pankoe, 80, of Elizabethtown passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Born in Audubon, NJ, he was the son of the late Walter W. and Elizabeth (Pavluk) Pankoe. Walter was the beloved husband to Elizabeth “Betsey” (Clark) for 20 years.
Walter lived in Germany from age two to twelve years old. After moving back to the United States, he was raised in Camden, NJ. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a York Rite and a Scottish Rite. He loved chess, karaoke, and travelling by train. Walter also enjoyed the beach, especially the sea and seashells, along with light houses.
In addition to his wife, Betsey, Walter is survived by his 2 children, Keith A. Pankoe (Kathleen), and Joy E. Fournelle (Joseph); and 2 grandchildren, Kaitlyn G. Pankoe and David Fournelle. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Patrick Fournelle; his brother Robert W. Pankoe; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 beginning at 11AM with Masonic service at Masonic Village Sell Chapel 200 Freemason Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10AM until the start of the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
