Walter N. Eley, Jr.

Walter N. Eley, Jr., 81, of Hummelstwon, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Spring Creek Nursing Home, Harrisburg. He was born Monday, July 20, 1931 in Harrisburg to the late Walter N. and Lavenela (Zimmerman) Eley.

Walter proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Hershey VFW Post 3502. He enjoyed working with his hands as a building supervisor, a gunsmith, and a mechanic. Walter had a passion for baking and cooking and was always ready for a game of pool or bowling. Most importantly he was a loving father.

He is survived by a son Jason Eley and wife Jennifer of Harrisburg; 3 sisters; and his ex-wife, Judith Eley of Hershey.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 17th at 1 PM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 12:30 until time of the service. Burial with full military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
