Walter R. Andersen, Jr.

Walter “Walt” Richard Andersen, Jr., 69, of Palmyra, passed away with his loving family by his side at the Lebanon Valley Home, Annville on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. He was born Monday, March 22, 1943 in Trenton, NJ to the late Walter R., Sr. and Marguerite (Reynolds) Andersen. He is predeceased by his loving wife Christine M. (Chrobak) Andersen.

Walter was a 1960 graduate of Milton Hershey School, obtained his B.S from Penn State University in 1970 and Masters in Education in 1973. He was a member of the Penn State Alumni Association and a passionate PSU football fan, never missing an opportunity to see a bowl game. He enjoyed traveling, taking road trips, playing cribbage and spending time with his Labrador companions. Most of all Walter was a loving family man.

He is survived by a daughter, Julie Andersen; and a son, Jack Andersen.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Noon at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078, with Rev. Timothy Dewald officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 11 AM until time of the services. Burial will be private and at the family’s convenience in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette, CA.
