Vincent Bernard Payne, Jr.

Vincent Bernard Payne, Jr., 89, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Delaware Valley Veteran’s Home, Philadelphia. He was born Friday, October 6, 1933 to the late Vincent Bernard Payne, Sr., and Audrey (Billingham) Payne. He is predeceased by his wife since 2013, Patricia J. (Bretz) Payne.
A proud Coast Guard Veteran, Vincent served during the Korean War. He was a faithful member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Palmyra and was also a member of the Palmyra Legion and VFW. In his spare time he enjoyed the Men’s fast pitch softball in Lebanon. More than anything he was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his children: Tammy Schmidt and husband Michael, Diane Groff and husband Thomas, Sandra Herr, David V. Payne and wife Mariellen, and Timothy Payne; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he is predeceased by three sisters.
Memorial mass will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 300 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Father Anthony Dill officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10AM until the start of the service. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
