Verna A. (Stauffer) Haldeman, 81, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on December 25th at Paramount Senior Living in Maytown.

Verna was retired from Hershey medical Center since 1995. After retirement, she worked at Elizabethtown Area School District through June 2012. Prior to that, she worked at the PA State Hospital for Crippled Children in Elizabethtown and the former Gerberich & Payne Shoe Factory in Mount Joy.

In the past, she enjoyed family trips to the mountains, working outdoors in her flower gardens and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Verna was the wife of the late Samuel H. Haldeman, and the daughter of the late Milton and Margaret Stauffer. Preceding her in death are twin grandchildren, Timothy and Miranda Albright (Vickie L. Haldeman), and her siblings Mary, Myrtle, Kenneth and Shirley.

Verna is survived by four daughters: Barbara A. (Robert Bryner) of Pittsburgh; Betty L. (Eric Fake), Vickie L. Haldeman and Bobbi J. Haldeman, all of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren: Crystal Finkey, Kayla Firestone, Joshua Ballard (Morgan) and Austin Albright (Macy); four great grandchildren: Autumn and Sammy (Crystal Finkey), and Jayden and Ellianna (Kayla Firestone). She is also survived by her siblings: Lester, Marlin, Merle, Leo, Lois Fitzpatrick and Linda Seibert.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM. Friends and relatives are invited for viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Shenk’s Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
