Velda L. (Long) Zerphey

Velda L. (Long) Zerphey, 94, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.  She was born Saturday, December 31, 1921 in Mount Jackson, Virginia to the late Randolph T. and Sarah E. (Estep) Long.

Velda retired in 1986 from Hershey Food Corporation where she worked for numerous years.

She is survived by three children: Carol L. Lucas, of Mount Joy; Gerald E. Zerphey and wife Rosann, of Hershey; Jeffrey S. Zerphey and wife Jessica, of Elizabethtown; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and a sister, Ruby Kingsboro and husband Clifford, of Elizabethtown.  She was preceded in death by two children, Barbara A. Gustin and James E. Zerphey as well as two sisters, Katherine Bricker and Stella Lerch.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Bright Hope Fellowship, 345 North Deodate Road, Middletown, PA  17057 with Reverend Ray Hock officiating.  Closed casket visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday.  Burial will follow in Shenk’s Community Cemetery, Elizabethtown, Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.
