Thomas P. Lavin, 70, of Elizabethtown, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Hershey Medical Center.  Born Friday, March 16, 1951, in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marjorie (Anthony) Lavin.  He was married to Anne D. (Duignan) Lavin on April 9, 1999.

Thomas worked as a Civil Engineer for Modjeski & Masters, Mechanicsburg.  He was also a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Elizabethtown.  Tom was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.  He was a devout Catholic and devoted to his church.  He was generous, giving, kind, and had a good sense of humor.  He volunteered at the homeless shelter, served on many committees, was an usher, and supported many charities.  He absolutely loved the sport of baseball and played on a league for many years.  Other hobbies and activities included running, fixing cars, bowling, basketball, baking, and golf.  He was an avid reader, a collector of books, enjoyed his music (mostly 60’s and 70’s), and had an uncanny ability to retain knowledge, making him a desired team member when playing trivial pursuit.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Tommy K. Lavin, of Elizabethtown.  Also surviving are four siblings: Suzanne Juliano, of Mountvale, NJ, Ellen Lavin, of Honesdale, PA, Margaret Carroll, and husband John, of Newton, NJ and Christopher Lavin, of Hoboken, NJ, as well as Thomas’s extended family and caring friends.
