Terry "Turk" M. Simmons

Terry M. “Turk” Simmons, 66, of Marietta, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Oak Leaf Manor, Landisville.  Born March 19, 1951 in Columbia, he was the son of Janet A. (Fletcher) Johnson and Ralph B. Simmons.

Turk was a 1969 graduate of Donegal High School and the Willow Street Vo-Tech.  An Industrial Electrician by trade, he worked at many power plants and nuclear plants and also wired some of the casinos in Atlantic City.  Turk was a member of the Marietta Boat Club, Marietta American Legion Post #466 as well as the Susquehanna Beneficial and Marietta Beneficial Associations.

He is survived by his mother, Janet A. Johnson; a daughter, Amy L. Simmons; two grandchildren, Kaylie and Tannar Kroll; a step-brother, Steven Johnson, of Manheim; a step-sister, Cindy Jacobs, wife of Ed, of New Market, MD as well as Turk’s friend and companion of over 40 years, Christina J. Wallander, of Maytown.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 North Gay Street, Marietta, PA  17547, 717-426-3614.  Private burial will take place in the Maytown Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
