Stephen L. Tyler, Jr.

Stephen Leslie Tyler, Jr., 87, of Elizabethtown, PA, formerly of Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Stephen L. Tyler Sr. and Hazel (Sack) Tyler. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Joan (Walker) Tyler.

Stephen and his wife were members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown, CT for 35 years, where they sang in the choir. They were also members of the Connecticut Choral Society. Stephen graduated from Yale University School of Engineering in 1950. He went on to work as a chemical engineer for Union Carbide. His passions included golf and swimming.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children: Linda of Elizabethtown, April Perciballi, wife of Rocco of Lafayette, NJ, and Andrew, husband of Diane of Manchester, CT; 7 grandchildren: Gabrielle, Laura, Robert Michael, Paige, Charlene, Jessica, and Daniel; 6 great grandchildren; and brother William Tyler of Dennis, MA.

A memorial service will be held in Newtown, CT at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
