Shuzhen Duan

Shuzhen Duan, 95, of Hershey, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Born in Pingxiang, Jiangxi Province, China, she was the daughter of the late Jingfan and Zhide (Wen) Duan. She was widowed by her husband Zhenhui Dai.

Shuzhen’s early life in China was full of ups and downs with China’s history. She devoted herself to her career to being an elementary math teacher while managed to raise her 4 children. She is lovingly remembered as a hardworking, loving, and caring mother. After retirement, she then immigrated to the USA to be closer to her daughter and help raise her two grandchildren.  Shuzhen was open minded, eager to learn, contribute, and adapt to her new home in the USA. People sought her company not only for her sharp mind and pursuit of goodness, beauty and truth, but also for her angel-alike smiles and her love of life.

Shuzhen is survived by her 4 children: Pingchu Dai, married to Guoming Peng, Jingqi Dai, married to Meiyu Tang, Benqi Dai, married to Qianqian Ying, all of China, and Pingqi Dai of Hershey, 7 grandchildren: Bo Peng, married to Tao Lu, Tao Peng, married to Chang Liu, Qing Peng, married to Ganhao Xiao, Rulan Dai, married to Chen Feng, Ruxin Dai, married to Lei Fan, Allen Shi, Kevin Shi, 6 grand grand children: Junye Peng, Weiran Peng, Zipeng Xiao, Xinran Feng, Leopold D. Fan, Rex D. Fan.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. Closed casket visitation will be held from 10:00-10:30 prior to the service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
