Shirley M.  (Stoops) Sloan

Shirley Mae (Stoops) Sloan, 95, of Elizabethtown, passed away on April 17, 2016 at the Masonic Village.  She was born December 18, 1920 in Philadelphia to the late Alonzo W. and Hazel M. (Wilson) Stoops.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert A. Sloan, Sr. in 1988.

She is survived by 3 children, Rev. Dr. Robert A. Sloan, Jr. and wife Ann, Robin S. Sloan, and William A. Sloan, II and spouse Rich Vergine; 3 grandchildren, Meredith, Rob, and Griffin; and a great-granddaughter, Sloan.  She was predeceased by 2 siblings, Charles “Bill” Stoops and Dorothy McCarty.

She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Havertown.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 20th at noon in the Williamsburg Chapel at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026.   Burial will be private in Arlington Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown 17022.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, and mailed to Masonic Villages, Office of Gift Planning, One Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022 specify donation to be made to Washington Unit 3.
